Red Bull boss Christian Horner commented on the team`s decision to invite Ricciardo to the position of reserve driver.
According to Horner, Ricciardo made a mistake when he decided to move from Red Bull to Renault and then to McLaren, and a return to Red Bull will help him recover from his recent setbacks.
Daniel joined us as a teenager and has come a long way with the team, growing up a lot. He achieved significant success with us, but then he decided to do something stupid and left to try himself in a couple of other teams. But nothing good came of it.
Daniel is a wonderful guy. And we thought that bringing him back to the team would be the right decision - and he also has the biggest smile in F1, which will be useful for our advertising purposes.
