Liverpool - Newcastle (Formations)

Liverpool achieved a routine 2-0 victory against Newcastle. This time, fans of Anfield did not see a glamorous performance in the attack, as this season has often been. Merseysides played at a slightly lower pace, but without any problems they reached three new points. Jurgen Klop`s team temporarily climbed to second place with a one-point lead ahead of Manchester United, who played on Monday. Liverpool did not start with his usual aggressive game. Merseyside played at a lower pace in the opening minutes, and this continued for much of the first half. The result from highlights soccer was a lack of position in front of the opponent`s goal. The swarms were quite defensive and managed to block the attacking trio of the hosts.

Mane had a chance at the start, and Lovren had twice hit his head after a corner kick in the 27th minute. A little later, after a corner, he was in danger at the door of Dubravka. But Klap`s team could not find its optimum rhythm and made more mistakes than usual.

Five minutes before the break, Liverpool became available. The ball hit Oxley-Chamberlain, he advanced and found Salah on the right, and the Egyptian scored in the seventh consecutive match. He scored his 24th goal in the league, equaling with Harry Kane on top of the top scorers.

At the very end of the first part Newcastle was close to a surprise leveling. A good attack of the Swarms has ended with a magnificent blow to Dami and a great rescue of Karius. Benitez`s team tried to push a little closer to the opponent`s penal field in the second half. Liverpool kept playing patiently and waiting for his options. The home side put a free kick in the 55th minute. Then Firmino technically directed the ball to the road in the way of Mane, who sent her to the net. It was the No. 200 goal for the Reds in the Pre mier League under the direction of Juergen Klop.

After the attack, the Merseyside controlled the events until the end of the match, and their rival did not do anything to make it difficult. The hosts twice claimed a penalty for violations against Salah. At the end, the Egyptian broke away from the defense, and Lassels knocked him down. Foul had no doubt, he was out of the box but would have led to a red card if the judge had judged him.
